help mapping MIDI program changes

Hi--

I just got a Rocktron Midi Mate foot controller, and I'd love to set it up so that program changes sent from the Rocktron will select a particular scene in Live. So I:

1. Enter Midi Map mode in Live
2. click the "Scene Select" button
3. Do a program change from the Rocktron

Unfortunately, the Rocktron also sends a Pitch Bend event, and Live thinks this is the CC I want to assign to "Scene Select." I can't find any way to manually change which assignment Live picks.

Is there any way to manually type in what CC number I want to use in Live, or (even better) choose from the other CCs that were moved at the same time?

Ableton doesn't accept program change messages. It sees any pc message as pitch bend. I don't know your foot pedal, but if you can program it to send CC's or midi notes then you can map to functions using midi map.

Thanks for the reply, Joaoorecchia. Annoying that Live ignores PC messages, given that every synth since 1982 has known what to do with them...

Anyway, I've got it working now. What I ended up figuring out (in case anyone else needs to know) is to use a little program called MidiPipe, which intercepts the messages from the pedal, turns the Program Changes into notes, and passes them on to Live.
