How to DAW Record Maschine events with Ableton Live

hey fellas. this is a serious problem for me & i would very much appreciate it if someone could help.
as stated, i am trying to record my Maschine (v.1.5) events in Ableton 8.1.3, much like the tutorial featured on YT.

unfortunately, even with setting up my I/O as described, its still not working. i consulted some forum members at NI. even the moderator was stumped. what could be the problem here?
