i hope people back me up, or tell me i'm stupid cos this is a feature already

it would be awsome if i could press a keyboard shortcut to silence notes in midi :D

Ableton 8, NI Massive, Max 4 Live, other stuff

well you could route your midi individually and use scale devices to filter the notes and then map the mute button to a key...

+1 - Activate/Deactivate definitely needs a shortcut key. Would save so much time both in the arrange view and midi editor.

Why don't you just slice the piece of clip that has the notes in it you want to mute and right click it and choose "deactivate clip" ? :P

Yeah thats what I was thinking.

I'm all for anyone's time-saving ideas, but wondered about the relevance of this. Unless the OP means to deactivate all MIDI everywhere in the project? Trying to think why you'd want that... not that there isn't a scenario!

almost 50times a day I use this and it would be a huge time saver to just mute clips in the arrangment...
