The shape of the room itself. One day I want to have a room built specifically as a project studio, or at least move into a non-square room with fewer nasty modes in the bass frequencies. I have this spike at around 500hz or so that has been following me from apt. to apt. because the rooms tend to be the same size.

Actually, a technical partner to assist in my processes, and shorten the learning curves on some of these components I am working with. A desire to do some sound design would be good. Interest or experience with K2661 would be quite helpful.

Also, some better interfaces to control transports in Live4 including a matrix of buttons to control 16 tracks worth of session view clips, and switch out of play, record, and idle . . . . I think I'm gonna have to build that one myself.

Well, thanks anyway. It's the thought that counts.

1) A 2g powerbook. g4 or g5. whatever. Dual processors? The more the merrier!

2) The whole faderfox lot. Why, again, why are they not sold in the US yet?
FCC-smanschy-C...

3) An upgrade for Logic 7 that will make it stable enough to use rewired to Live (hopefully it's already in the mail...)

4) Someone who looks like the bad guys from the matrix (I would say Chulpan Khamatova, but my GF would not appreciate the addition), who will teach me how to program my own version of Max/MSP from scratch.

5) Robotic imps (looking like Danny Devito's in Ironman costumes) that jettison around my studio, simulating ping-pong delay, with dynamic, hydrolic movements, wielding enormous monitors on their shoulders (Atlas style.)

6) a midi operated robot drummer, for my kit. Like something out of that Aphex Twin video.

7) a set of midi-controlling dentures. Whoa...

8 ) a pimping projector, so that I would finally get off my ass and work towards the multimedia ideas I have. OK, prehaps audio-video software would help.

9) Tentacles.

10) The maximum number (15) of FE-8 expanders for my tascam fw1884. Now that would be an indulgent performance piece. Watching all those automatic faders going up and down...

11) Some throat spray for this nasty frigging bug I caught...

12) A system that would enable me to run each oscillator in operator through it's own independent effects chain.

13) The Collosal, Quantum Leap Ra, Symphonic Voice fun-pack from east-west.

I'd make mine bigger and not have our bedroom in a loft above it so my wife could actually sleep when I'm trying to work on that bassline @ 3am without headphones :D It's amazing how a just woken grumpy wife can stifle creativity
3ghz Pentium 4 (Prescott), XP Sp2, 1gig Ram, Dual Monitor with Matrox Millenium, MOTU Traveler, Event EZ8 Adat card. Also IBM THinkpad t40 1.6 1 gig ram

8) Nice!

I'd like some proper studio monitors and a firewire audio card.
A dual G5 desktop with a 30" HD display.
A fast external HD to use with the lappie.

I should have that stuff by the end of this year.....

Other things include:
New turntables. Mine are about 70 years old at this point.
A third turntable.
Some second hand vintage hardware synths to play with. I have a jp8000 on loan from a friend at the moment and it has been fun.

My dream room is a large, bright, well lit room with plenty of big windows arround to let in the sunlight. A shit load of plants all over the place and a 150 gallon fish tank with two arowanas to provide atmosphere. In addition to my computer/music gear there will also be tables and easles for drawing, painting, and making things.

And it will have a secure door so the cats can not get in. Ever.

It will be the ultimate creative environment.

One day.......

the really funny thing is that was a small joke for a long time b/c she used to be the person who ripped and encoded all richie's vinyl. now it's a much bigger joke with the ubercool thing ;)

maybe the issue is that you can buy a brand new one for $65 more than your minimum bid price.

I guessed that was the case.

We have three tanks downstairs in the living room. A 55 and 2 20 longs stacked on top of each other. No salt though.

I really would like to get an Arowana, I love those fish. But they get too big for any of our current tanks. Apparently you need atleast a 100 gallon tank to keep one properly.

But, when my wife and I purchase a home I will start setting up a new studio and the Arowana will be the studio fish. Already part of the plan.........

Also

wait....... am I talking about fish still? Sorry.

:?
