Hey Maschine-heads, what's up with this crap?

Post by sparklepuff » Tue Jul 06, 2010 9:27 pm

Not sure what changed, but dragging and dropping clips out of Maschine onto clips in Live has become unusable. The first hit of any pattern I drag out of Maschine gets rendered ridiculously louder than it actually is. These waveforms are of the exact same pattern in Maschine. The first I recorded to an audio track, the second I drag-and-dropped onto a clip slot. You can see that in the drag-and-drop version that the first hit is much louder than everything else, and clearly louder than it actually is when recording the audio directly to a track.

Anybody else experiencing this? I don't see any option in settings to "Make first hit obnoxiously louder than the rest of the audio in this clip." I would definitely uncheck that box.

I remember having this problem in multiple daws a few months back, but haven't experienced it lately.

Are you updated to the latest version? Thats the only thing I've changed.

Yeah, I'm on the latest version. I've been dragging and dropping audio clips out of Maschine ever since I got it, it has become an integral part of my workflow. This just started happening in the past few days, no idea what the heck is going on or what may have changed.

Bump

Seriously, 36 pages of Maschine love here and nobody is experiencing this wacky behavior? It's not at all random, happens every time. Cannot drag patterns out of maschine without the first note being amplified into oblivion.

Nope, no system update, no Live update, still working in the same set that I have been for weeks with the same plugins.

i sometimes experience this!
i don't know what its causing it, but i posted somewhere on the maschine forum a post
If you experience this, just double the pattern and use only the second half of it :)

Thanks for the confirmation. So no answer from NI? I posted as well on their forum, no response. I find responses there to be non-existent at best. I hate having to do workarounds. But I suppose that is still faster. Thanks.

Have you tried drag/dropping in other hosts ? is this specifically a live + maschine problem...?

The drag and drop feature has never worked for me. When i drag audio into live from maschine the first 16th of the pattern is cut off and the loop is at a higher tempo, not just moved over.

Yes, it also does this in Logic. First one is recorded to an audio track, second is the same file drag-n-dropped out of Maschine onto an audio track. Notice the very large difference in the first hit.

These are also completely different kits/patterns from the one I showed previously in the screenshots from Live, just to show that it wasn't a problem with that specific setup.

i dont have anything in front of me, but have you tried opening up maschine in standalone and under preferences click on "export to loop" or some other such thing?

you don't have it set up correctly. you need to check a box in the prefs which optimises drag & drop for loops.
