Re: My New iPad: Daily Reports!
I'm more in the camp of: if its useful for the iPad, it could be handy for the laptop too.
Mifi or phone with wifi tethering seems like the best of both worlds.
Unfortunately there isn't a lot of info on using such things in my country, so I'm still researching. Depending on the solution, prices range near the difference of a 3G model.

Re: My New iPad: Daily Reports!
Went to help my parents move into their new house this weekend and the iPad really proved it's value. They haven't had their internet or cable hooked up yet and I still had games to play and with the 3g connection I had internet, streaming music, and streaming movies through netflix. And just as importantly the portability really paid off because I could easily move it from room to room whether we all wanted to enjoy it or if I needed to take a break from the chaos.
Thanks Apple!

I know you can zoom in and out but the graphics look too wire frame for the iPad's capabilities, makes Wii graphics look like Avatar.Rave wrote:I really like that game, u know u can zoom out right?beats me wrote:Also I got the tower defense game with the aliens and the sheep but I'm not really a fan. The graphics are too large and primitive for the screen real estate and resolution. It moves too fast and there's too many weapon choices. It's essentially the strategy equivalent of button mashing fighting games: go for it and hope for the best.
With experience on the harder levels u will find your choice of weapons are critical.
And I'm sure more and better weapons choices become important in later levels but they just throw too many at you with little practice to see which weapons would be more appropriate. Best guess: the more expensive weapons.

The cheapest is the best value for money followed by the flame thrower.

@Rave
For me the ideal tower defense game starts out with a handful of weapons that can handle the current level through either careful placement or upgrades of weapons available. Then a new weapon possibility is added as a new enemy is added that would take that weapon to kill. There's a direct correlation between new weapons and enemies. Alien sheep thingy seems to just toss out numerous weapons with level increases and you don't gain the natural experience of a game that is better paced.

I hear what you saying my friend. I just find it addictive. Have u got a defense game in mind that floats your boat?
There is on the iPhone that rocks but I got used to the big screen now and can't go back.

I guess fieldrunners is my go to tower defense game. Nicely paced and not an obnoxious amount of weapons available. I also like that once you get the hang of it you can just let it do it's thing for a level or two without having to stress about it while you re-strategize. But it would be nice if they added more options other than different playing fields which you have to pay extra for…although I don't mind kicking down another dollar or 2 on a game I enjoy.Rave wrote:I hear what you saying my friend. If you don't have it then get the iPhone version and 2X it because there's zero value added for a higher price to the iPad version, just sharper graphics. It's a real pisser they didn't take advantage of the larger screen real estate even if it was just the same playing fields but on a larger scale.

And then the 15 Prince fans who still think he's relevant can weep with joy?

First they purchase the mapping company Placebase, now this?
I'm ready for Apple to revolutionize mapping the way they've done with....well....everything else.
