Congratulations to Spain, edged it on the night with the better passing football.

Commiserations to Holland, Robben should have put you in the lead but didn't take his chance and the way the oranje approached the first half was more like watching Australian Rules Football, De Jong and Van Bommel should both have been off the field before half time (the ref gave you a break on those, even if he should have sent off Puyol in the 2nd half). The game has changed, in 1986 there would probably have been about 3 bookings instead of 14 but the laws have changed yet so many players flew in studs up, late tackles from behind, 2 footed tackles, Cantona kung fu kicks to the ribs etc. so sympathy to the ref, a tough game to officiate.

No disgrace in coming second in this amazing tournament, not many thought Holland would be in the last 4 even, so well played, almost took it to pens. Iniesta has been excellent the last 2 matches and glad he scored the winner.

Think it was mentioned here before, but you do realise that, as the Netherlands didn't win, there was only one team that was unbeaten during the whole tournament... New Zealand!

Liked the Schanze most. Hamburg is my fav German city though it was always one gig, 1-2 days stay. Now I am on bigger project - till 25 July, let me know if you have a gig or there be any interesting event in HH.

I have to laugh at those dutch supporters complaining about the Ref. And I really must watch some dutch league football, I'm guessing it's some kind of free-form martial art.

For me it wasn't the hard tackling aspect that negates their whining at the ref, it was the fact that Robben had two clear chances to score and should have, OK, good saves by Casillas, but Robben should have slotted them home.
