Scott is doing 2 prequels on the "Space Jockey" that you briefly see sitting in the chair in the original Alien movie. in 3D!

mate that is blatantly incorrect. alien 3 is awesome. its just unfortunate it comes 3rd in series behind alien and aliens. the extended cut is almost the movie it could have been. its a shame the studio fucked it from the start.
Agreed, but you can't ignore the awfulness that is Alien: Resurrection when making the comment that AVP ruined the Alien franchise.
I can and I did. But I do agree that Rsurrection was utter shite but shone like an oscar winning drama compared to AvP. Some things should never reach the big screen.

I think I'm just in an 'I'm-so-old-I've-seen-it-all-before'kind of state at the mo'. I'd never pay money to see anything with aliens or predators in again. Tedium.

I recall watching films and telling my old man about them and that he mustc watch them and we'd get them on rental and watch them and he'd get up after 15 minutes and wander off....I know exactly why he did that now and frequently do it myself.

Am, I going to sit through 3 hours of shite (Avatar) or do something constructive with my day....my son tried to tell me about it later and without having watched the final two thirds of the film, i told him exactly what happened.

I can tell you exactly what happens in Predators too. Never have to watch it.

Sad.

but true.

I saw Predators the other day and thought it was aight. Just aight. Nothing special. At least not as horrible as the AVP flicks. I found it bearable. Don't think I'd be interested in seeing it again.

Predator 2 FTW

The directors cut of Aliens 3 is pretty cool, worth a place in the boxset unlike Resurrection. AVP? fuck that! Saw Predators, its an action movie and not directed by Rodriguez it's one of his mates. It's ok, would of been better with more development of the world they land on, the giant drills/ anti orbital artillery were cool but give me a ruined city. Also the scene where they see the other moons/planets in the sky seemed pretty ridiculous with a basic knowledge of astronomy. Adrian Brody must of had some laugh using that voice and walking off scene dramatically every time he delivered a tag-line style line, the Piano it's not!

That's brilliant news about Scot doing alien prequels

Just saw it.

Went in with low expectations.

Fuckin loved it.

It was what it was.

Not as good as the first, light years better than the 2nd.

The dialog was kept to a fucking minimum, which was great. Didn't try to give you goofy one liners every 4sec that used to work so well in the 80s, but since then has utterly lost it's fun.

It was great that they didn't try and capture the uber macho tone of the 1st film. That would have killed it.

The thing that worked better than anything else? The editing and pacing. Well done for this genre.
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

Looks like the only way to like this movie is to see it with low expectations.
I saw it, thought it was pretty poor to be honest.
They could have gone more in depth about the Predators culture.
