Sampling from the internet (You tube)

Post by punarnee » Thu Jul 15, 2010 6:57 pm

Hi guys,

I use a Novation Nio 2/4 and wondered if it would be possible to sample the audio from "you tube" into an audio track in ableton? Does anyone know if this is possible and the set up requirements for this? I am using Vista OS?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the response but is it not just possib;le to change the control panel sound options in windows then route the audio from you tube to my Novation exrtenal audio interface Nio 2/4 then into a track in live? Arm tack then select somthing like auido in on the I/o track options then change to in...? Ive tried and i am sure it should work but im just not doing somehting right?

Does anyone who owns one of these Movation Nio 2/4's acctually succeded doing this or am i flogging a dead horse?

yeah I mean who would pay the measly $10 or whatever it is

cheapskate!

anyway, nothing wrong with ripping samples from YT - unless you're specifically needing it HiQ for some reason, you can easily get it good enough for a club track or whatever

theres an add on for firefox that lets you save you tube vids... you could rip the sound off after you save it... price = free. mac or pc.

and personally, pound for pound, i think kung fu hustle is the best kung fu movie ever.

Here's a fun thing, no need to rip, just get the Safari browser - you can download Youtube videos with the Activity window, (then add .flv to filename).
