I got the device to be recognized by Live, but now I am having a new issue with mapping
How would I get everything mapped within Live? I understand the concept behind the midimap mode, but I must be doing something wrong. When I click on a control inside Live, it says to move a midi key to assign the control, but when I do this...nothing happens. The midi-in signal within Live lights up every time I turn a knob or move a fader, but it just does not assign any controls.
Is there some kind of preset I should use within the UC-33e? It is odd to me that the first slip cover that is on top of the unit is the Ableton Live cover, but there is no preset for Ableton Live according to the manual. I know that this might be because Live has a unique midi-mapping system and all controls are fully assignable, but is there something I need to configure on the unit first, in order to map everything in Live? Or is there something I am doing wrong inside of the software?
I have Remote turned ON for the UC33e in Live's MIDI preferences.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
UC-33 midi controller....help?
Re: UC-33 midi controller....help?
do you have multiple presets that you can select on the uc33? sometimes there is a specific one live is looking for.

Re: UC-33 midi controller....help?
Do you know how to determine what midi messages the faders, buttons and knobs on the UC33 are sending out? The info gets displayed in the LCD screen.
If it is a UC33a, there is editing software available which will make your life easier in that respect. But, if you have a plain UC33, like me, you unfortunately will need to get down to some serious manual reading and programming to get it sorted out.
The UC33 has 4 presets and I think they are all user programmed, not specifically ready for Live, so the slip covers (AFAIK) do not mean the unit is "ready" for use with LIve, I think they are just guides displaying the basic mixer functions plus the transport buttons.
There is also a reset function - but I don't remember what the default setting are.
If you need a manual, I have a PDF I can send you.
Good luck.
Best, C

Re: UC-33 midi controller....help?
Just in case... make sure you have track and remote turned on in the midi prefs. If not, that's why you're having problems assigning controls.
If you're trying to use a preset template, sometimes they'll be programmed on preset 02 or something other than the first. It should tell you in the UC-33e manual. The editing software (enigma) can be downloaded. Personally I find it more intuitive to program controls on the controller itself.
