Creating a Chromalodeon type midi instrument in Live 8 Suite

Post by jamctelex » Sun Jul 18, 2010 10:45 pm

Is there a way to change the distance between notes on a midi instrument in Ableton? I'm interested in experimenting with producing music based on the Golden Ratio. In this, an A scale would go something like this infinitely:

A4
F5 +33cents
D6 -34cents
A#6 -1cent
F#7 +32cents
D#8 -34cents
A#8 -49cents

What I'm looking to do is use a midi controller to control a sine wave in operator so that each key is triggers one of these notes. If possible, I want to do this via MIDI without having to re-sample notes and pitch shift them individually. Is there a way to do this? I notice that in the MIDI effects there is a pitch shift effect but it doesn't do cents.

Any help would be much appreciated.
