Audio Drop Outs and Glitching

My version of Ableton has just started playing up a bit. Heres the situation ;

I am mixing a track so all channels are bounced and audio, the CPU meter is around 15-20% and there is very few plug ins active. I am just playing a looped section in the main drop but with all volumes down except bass, kick and snare. However the Hard disk overload light keeps coming on and the audio keeps stuttering and dropping out every 2-4 bars. Any ideas at all?

My version of Ableton has just started playing up a bit.

Maybe your version is defective. Return it and get a new one.

Or maybe it is, that your HD is too full, too fragmented or just too slow to keep up with your project.
