8.1.4
Re: 8.1.4
stability is fine, but i get crazy CPU spikes that even hang (get stuck) at times and then producing a sort of static / crackly noise.
this is only happened very rarely, but it did happened...
back to 8.1.3 for the time being.

Stability has been good, but have encountered an issue that when playing a particular set, an audio file crashes live everytime.
I have stripped the set down to just this audio track (which used to play fine).
How can just an audio track playing crash Live?

^ is it in a group? if so try un-grouping and see what you get.

The audio was not grouped, but did have some warping.

Track was written in 8.1.3. When taking a closer look at audio file, it appears that 8.1.4 didn't remember the warp parameters correctly.
Originally, the audio in the clip was stretched to over 4 beats and the clip was 4 beats long.
In 8.1.4,the clip was still 4 beats long, however, the audio in the clip was only just over 3 beats.
Just had to re warp the file, and now it plays fine.
Have had other issues with Live 8.1.4 not remembering correct parameters in other sets, like (unlinked) pitch automation in clips.
Never had issues like this when 'upgrading' to newer versions before.
Back to 8.1.3 me thinks.
Mr.adl, does your audio clip have information all the way to the end of your clip?

Re: 8.1.4
I didn't want to open up a new thread about this, so i will ask here since it is related to 8.1.4.
I downloaded and installed 8.1.4 over my 8.1.3 installation. And there now appears to be BOTH on the system ? 8.1.4 and 8.1.3 is still there.
Is this normal ?

it's handy if you need to go back to a previous version for any reason.

Thanks for that. And it makes sense why it would be that way.macmurphy wrote:yes, this is normal.

Re: 8.1.4
8.1.4 - issues opening earlier version sets, a bit crash happy too - absolute zero response from Ableton support now that I think about it.
8.1.5b2 seems alot better so far, but havnt tried openeing the same sets.

Nothing to see here - move along!

Mr.adl, does your audio clip have information all the way to the end of your clip?
No, it´s just some audio clips but not heavily warped and with some seconds of silence at the start and the end of the clip.
I think it might has something to do with Ableton AND Kaspersky Antivirus cause when i disable that the track does not crash. Still weird that the track is running fine with Live 8.1.3 and also with 8.1.5b1.
I send a bugreport but haven´t heard back from the Abes yet.

Re: 8.1.4
what on earth is going on? is this supposed to be an improvement release? don't they stress test before releasing?SubFunk wrote:stability is fine, but i get crazy CPU spikes that even hang (get stuck) at times and then producing a sort of static / crackly noise.

I don't see the debugging cycle closing any time soon with this way of working.
I can't be bothered testing anymore.

Re: 8.1.4
I had crashes with 8.1.4 (dragging clips from the browser for one thing) so I went back to 8.1.3.
