Son. Of. A. BITCH.

I just paid for Komplete 6 a couple of hours ago.

Oh well, I guess I'll have the benefit of owning the multi-sample libraries from K6 that aren't included in K7.... or are they ? I can't decipher that german nonsense.

All they did was dump a bunch of preset-packs/sample libraries that have been out for a while into the the Komplete package and call it an update. If preset surfing through an ocean of hit-or-miss material is your bag, than I guess Komplete 7 rocks. But this just seems really weak to me. Not that it matters, though; I'm still giddy about Reaktor 5.5 so it's no big deal what K7 is or isn't; I just think this move is kinda silly and effortless on NI's part, but I guess from a business standpoint it makes perfect sense.

honestly the best thing they did in recent history is Maschine (as numerous threads here will attest) so this other stuff feels, hmm, underwhelming in comparison...

^^^ what preset packs ?

All I can decipher from the german list is all the multi-sample libraries they added (which get rave-reviews and on their own cost a pretty penny) plus 'the finger' which wasn't free...and a new reaktor ensemble which may or may not be free ?

Hopefully this doesn't turn into some kind of retarded ''I don't like multi-sample libraries'' debate.

Major suckage for anyone who's already bought all those multi-sample libraries, though.

Yeah I KNEW this would happen! I just purchased the Komplete 6/Kore 2 + Kontroler pack!!!!!!!!!!! But it was obvious as N.I. ALWAYS do this ... big sale just before update that is.

Anyway, I am not too upset as I haven't even installed or registered it yet, and it will take a while to get to know all this as I haven't used any N.I. stuff yet ...I wonder if there is a grace period, or maybe I can send the Komplete 6 part back

The only thing which WOULD piss me off is if they also release a new hardware Kore interface with USB 3, onboard DSP and other fancy upgrades! THAT would make me mad!

...and just by co-incidence, I came here tonight to ask advice about where to install the various parts (like apps on internal HD and sample libraries on external 7200...or would everything run fine on the 5400 rpm internal drive on my 2009 MacBook Pro? (2.66; 4 G ram) It would be nice to have everything in the MBP but not sure if 5400 rpm will cut it?

Advice gratefully received here, thanks! (oops ...temporary thread hijack :P )

I paid for the same pack (bank transfer just today, money won't even arrive for a few days), but since there was a 200euro reduction on what it should cost... I'm guessing there's no grace period considering the reduction ? ... but who's to say.

I'm gonna email NI and see what's up

surely they'll do an Ableton if you bought within x months of release etc...

I for one can't wait - if the upgrade price is OK. I've had 6 for a year now and i loves it.

If this proves to be true, I imagine there'll be a lot more pissed off customers.

Anyway, I could care less for all the additional content since it doesn't involve upgrades to the existing software in Komplete 6.

I never liked the idea of buying massive sample libraries and instead prefer to buy them as I need them (or just make my own).

NI really needs to scale down their releases. They're going mental over there with releasing something new every 5 minutes.

If there was ever a company you could definitively answer "yes" to the "should I wait?" question, it's NI.

I'm just glad it's all sample libraries.
I upgraded Komplete to 6 last month, and literally a day later they cut the price in half for the upgrade.
Glad there's no Reactor 6, Massive 2, FM9, or Battery 4.
I only use presets as starting points so I've been more than happy with the retarded amount that 6 ships with.
They should IMO include the Kore 2 software in Komplete at the least.

Also a discount on the hardware controllers would be nice,
I have a Kore 1 controller, but I would love Rig Kontrol 3 at a discount.....

BTW dum, if you literally ordered it today, you should be able to get the upgrade for free.
That's the way every software company I know of works it. Same day order? free upgrade. 8)

Hm, you sure your time frame is right there? I bought the Komplete 6 upgrade around the end of June because it was $75 (or something like that) up until the end of June and it was for at least all of June if not also May. I didn't really need/want it but for that price I'd be an idiot not to buy it. It's still sitting in the box yet to be installed.
