I believe if you go into arrangement view, and loop the beginning of the track, for say 8 bars, when you go back to session view it will record 8 bar loops

In arrangement view you can use the punch-in and punch-out switches to prevent recording before/after the song looping points. The buttons can be found on the top, next to the song loop on/off switch.

I have tryed, but, after setting the punch out, on the session view, I do some re-sample recordings on live situation.
And, the punch out doesnt stop the clip recording. I dont know what happen.
The track mantain the ¨arm¨setting...

Thanks!

punch-in and -out only pertain to arrangement mode. I don't know offhand of a way to stop a recording at a fixed length in session view. I remember someone saying something about recording a silent clip of the right length in a session clip, setting it not to loop, then using overdub to record on top of it, but I've never tried this and don't know whether recording will loop on the same clip or not...

That's one of the many advantages of Maschine's "session view" like being able to record automation. Maschine has a Sync mode when sampling/resampling where it will record however many bars you specify in sync with the tempo and it can even start playing back what you just sampled at the beginning of the next bar and never having to stop the sequencer the whole time.

you kan kind of adjust the recording length with the global quantization.

Set it to e.g. 4 bars - trigger a recording slot in session view, trigger it again when it started recording, voila, clip will loop after 4 bars.

But you can't set global quantization to odd lengths like 3 bars, or 24 bars etc. This is a drag.

Other option is to trigger the recording with dummy clips. But this is a pain to set up.
