Problem playing imported EXS files with Sampler

Hi, I've been importing many of my JamPack World (GarageBand) .exs samples to the Live Suite Sampler. The problem is that in Live the sampler is behaving as though the mod wheel is engaged, though it is not.

For example, the mod wheel may add tremolo to a given Garageband/Logic sample. When this sample is imported to Live's sampler, tremolo is added to the sample as though the mod wheel was triggering it, although I am not in fact using the mod wheel.

I'm running Live on a MacBook with Snow Leopard, and triggering samples from my M-Audio Keystation 88, on which the mod wheel is currently set to output midi CC 1.

Can't figure out how to fix this - does anyone know? thanks

I've partially solved this problem: it seems that velocity mapping shows up in Live's Sampler, but the mod wheel mapping has to be done manually. Currently all samples that pass through the key and velocity filters play, including the tremolo sample layers. I can select the tremolo layers and and adjust their sample select filters, then in midi remote assign my mod wheel to the sample selector, and thereby filter out the tremolo layers unless I trigger them with the mod wheel.

Problem remaining is that I would have to set this up manually in each Live Set in which I use the .exs multisample. It seems that instead I should be able to use Sampler's Midi tab to assign the mod wheel to the sample selector and then save the sample this way, but I can't get this to work. Under mod wheel I choose Sample Selector from the pulldown menu in Destination A and set amount A to 100. The activity light indicates that Live is reading my mod wheel changes, but it has no effect on the sample selector. In fact, no matter what destination I choose for the mod wheel, or other controllers, and no matter what amount I set them to, they have no effect. Curious what I am missing here.
