Hello there, Ableverse. I've owned Live for a hair under two weeks, and am still by all means just scoping out the lay of the land (so to speak) and messing around with knobs and stuff. Great fun, really. Anyways, my experimentation has yielded two (semi-)completed tracks thus far -- both of which began as mindless noodling. That said, I quite fancy them both (especially the first one I created). Granted, they both still need to be cleaned up a lot, but I'm curious as to what you all think of them at this stage in production. Thanks!

First two composititions
Re: First two composititions
Heya,
thanks for sharing!
I really like Buttermilk Breeze, cool atmosphere. You should watch your levels though, you are clipping at several spots. I suggest you try dropping 4dB for each channel (not the master). You can always add some dynamics at the end (like compression) if the overall level is too low.
I'm also an Ableton noob so I can't really give you more advice.
Good job though, it's a great start!
(I don't really like the other one though, too much auto-filter and the melody sounds too strange for me.)
cheers

Re: First two composititions
I really like the atmosphere in Buttermilk Breeze, the track would be much easier and more pleasing to listen to if it was mixed better in certain areas. Play around with the volume levels until everything is more smooth and balanced. Also IMO you need to fix the filter during the break in the middle. It sounds as though you have the LFO "amount" turned up which is causing some clipping. I'd love to hear this again after being adjusted. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the input! I've since messed around with the limiting / compressing of Buttermilk Breeze -- if you care to listen again, let me know what you think. Plunge is still very much a work in progress.
