If you already own an APC40, you can hook up an APC20 and automatically access 16 tracks and an enormous 80-button grid, thanks to the new 'Combination Mode.' You can also run up to 6 APC20s together.
Launchpad or APC 20?
Re: Launchpad or APC 20?

You're welcome. I'm always happy to share.ShelLuser wrote:Yes, you're absolutely right there. Thanks for your detailed explanation, I totally overlooked that possibility before.Pasha wrote:Let me explain my point of of view.
When you use a non motorized slider for being Volume, Pan, Send at different times the following situation might occur:
In the mean time I gave this a few tries with some sampled clips I have around; set the volume for 2 tracks to top and bottom and then tried this approach and indeed.. Now my 'value scale' mode turns into a "take over" kind of thing and I can indeed hear volume skips.
And although I don't agree with some comments that such a setup would be obsoleted due to age, I now do see the caveats with it.
Thanks!
Nothing it's obsolete IMHO. It depends how you use it and for what purpose.
I think that for mixing you need a mixing controller built for that purpose.
Even a non-motorized would do, when other controls are not overlapped with volume
like it happens on the NanoKontrol.
Coming back to the OP I think that having all the controls in front of you it's a good thing.
To arm, mute, solo track in Launchpad you need to switch to mixer mode first (1 button press)
while APC20 let's you access those function directly. Here APC20 wins.
Having said so my personal preference still goes to the Launchpad because of the mixer feedback
and form factor (8x8) ... and because I own it...

Re: Launchpad or APC 20?
would the launchpad still be better than the apc20 for dj-ing and playing live? or should i definitely be saving for the apc40?
