Memory Corruption detected (0x5e)
Memory Corruption detected (0x5e)
What causes this error message right after starting Live: "Memory Corruption detected (0x5e)". Then the program crashes. I have searched the forums and I see many ppl have this problem, but couldn't find a solution. Has anyone figured one out? Uninstall/reinstall doesn't work. thanks.

Re: Memory Corruption detected (0x5e)
Hi ztones,
this error usually means that the Live executable has been damaged or modified.
Please try reinstalling the latest version of Live. If the problem persists please contact [email protected].
Best wishes,
Tobias

It was not the live executable.... Took me 4 months to figure this out and LOTS of searching on the net. After countless uninstall/reinstalls and registry cleaners, the ONLY thing that worked for me was a windows repair-reinstall. If you have the operating system disk that offers a repair without data loss, than you're in good shape, you won't loose your data and won't have to start from scratch. BACKUP anyway. If not, and you can only do a clean reinstall of windows, then save all your data, take a couple days off, do a clean reinstall of windows and reinstall of Live. It will work. Actually, this is what I had to do. I wish I had someone post this for me earlier, would have saved me a lot of headaches and downtime! I hope this helps a lot of those who are getting this same error.
