iPhone Transport App for Live?

Post by BarBeCutie » Tue Aug 03, 2010 5:01 am

Hi All.

Steinberg has an iPhone transport app for Cubase ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cubase-i ... 98235?mt=8 ) and MOTU has one for Digital Performer ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dp-contr ... 83770?mt=8 ). Both are free.

Has anyone heard if Ableton is developing an iPhone app like this for Live?

Thanks.

I'd rather leave controllers to 3rd party developers.... unless they decide to make an entire version of live available for the ipad... now THAT would be cool! (Kinda like Propellerhead's ReBirth app)

Check out some of these:

itm midilab - this one is free and easy to use. I've tried it out and it's not perfect, but it's completely free so I was satisfied. (Out of 1500 ratings it has 400 five star ratings)
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itm-midi ... 52602?mt=8

TouchOSC - This one is $5, but it works with the iphone/itouch/ipad and is kinda like having a lemur. I haven't bought it... YET, but I've heard good things. (Out of 300 ratings it has 200 five star ratings)

you forgot midipad http://www.midipad.de/Website/midipad.html
this app is using the mackie-protocol and also got a sessin-matrix like griid and touchAble

so there are enough apps for iOS. i want one for android.
and the android-community is growing very fast. at the moment htc, motorola and co are selling more android-phones than apple is selling iphones.
there are more android-phones but less android-midi-apps. so an app for android would make more sense.

There are no fully multitouch capable Android devices that come close to iOS devices. Most are dual touch and quality and capability varies greatly between all the android devices. Also, android support for audio development is not prioritized, thus lack of developers willing to code for it.

Osc touch with oscillator is what you are looking for. It works great and is fully customizable. Check it.
