Public Beta - AcmeBarGig's Shred 1.5x (Guitar Amp Sim Suite)

Post by fatphil » Wed Aug 04, 2010 12:53 pm

Hi all,

AcmeBarGig has released the latest public beta for Shred 1.5x (Guitar Amp Sim Suite).

Get it here: http://www.acmebargig.com/forums/viewto ... =82&t=1142

I believe this version 1.5 will be totally free, and the 2.0 version will be around 25 USD (The price was calculated by finding the average global price of a night out on the town).

Of course it's not limited to Guitar. It works well with bass and keys and lots of different sound sources.

Almost every parameter is controllable via automation/midi in Live 8.

It's currently PC VST only.

Please see Ken's notes about limitations for this *beta* release.

Also, please do contact AcmeBarGig directly about any problems not already noted, preferably through posting on their forums if you have an ID there (relatively painless to obtain).

Yeah same old story. Unfortunately free stuff costs money and time to develop like anything else. The team working on this are pretty stretched just getting the PC version out. It's a shame really, the sound quality and low CPU load rivals that of amp sims that cost several hundred dollars.
Maybe v2.0 will be available for the mac? That's a question for Ken.
