MASCHINE + MPK49 + Live7 = drifting/excess midi activity

Hello all, thanks for takin time to read and troubleshoot my situation...

MAC OSX 10.5.8, 2.4 GHZ C2D, 2 GB RAM
LIVE 7.0.10 SUITE, MOTU 828MKII, MASCHINE 1.5, AKAI MPK49


Been using mpk49 + Live7 for a while now... on DAY 2 of adding MASCHINE to the mix!

I have added the MASCHINE folder to remote scripts, and have both controllers in the PREF>MIDI SYNC

i move a control on mpk49 [knob=live's master bpm, slider=crossfader] and live's midi indicators run rampant, causing the value [bpm, crossfader] to drift dramatically [anywhere from 63-143 with tempo!]

mpk's onboard values seem normal, the activity appears be coming from aftertouch ghost midi notes in ableton's midi i/o indicators...

what should i check to resolve this?

TRACK SYNC REMOTE settings? slave the MASCHINE? adjust latency and buffer in both software?
