If I recall correctly, Josh Wink used the MC-202 to create the acid sounds in that track.

Nah, this is some kind of urban legend after a misquote from an old interview Josh gave - i don't remember were, have to ask again.
But the hsoc line is a 303 line.

But as we are at it: d16 are just working on a 101 on steroids - and the analouge part of the 202 was nearly exactly the same...
Personally looking forward to that, as i owned a 202 since i was 9yrs or something like that and it's broken since a few years.

"nope. it was definitely a 303. Wink carried the little silver box around with him and played with it on flights, etc. making up patterns and saving them. the signature acid track in Higher State came as somewhat of a random accident, and when he got back to the studio, he layed the parts down. soon after recording it, a few days, i think, he accidentally dropped the 303, the batteries fell out, and the pattern was lost forever.

many years ago, i asked Josh how he managed to get the cutoff and resonance so damn high, and he told me that he opened up the back of the 303, and played with the trim pots on the PCB. too clever."

so have you tried operator? it absolutely can emulate a 303. a tad more work than with devilfish, but only to get the right overdrive. I'd ask someone to prove me wrong, but I'm playing with it now, and you can't
