Help: Ableton 8 keeps crashing on me (mac user)

Hi. I need help.
I have Ableton 8.0 and a macpowerbook 2.4ghz core 2 duo intel with 4 gig ram (1067mhz).
I have multiple clips in ableton just running midi data to trigger battery. I have 16 battery banks set up in different channels and ableton keeps crashing. Is it a buffer size thing??
Whats the best buffer size setting for midi triggering??

Ok I will try that. I have to wait as I am in a remote area and cant download the update because of download limits. I will hopefully try it when I get to a bigger town.
