Just got a feeling somethings not quite right...

Post by IggyStooge » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:14 pm

Am I right thinking that the sound I've recorded (Intro Riff#1 & Archie#1) should be filling more of the space indicated by the black arrow in the screenshot? Hopefully you can understand what I'm getting at. Any input is much appreciated.

I guess you mean the level of your recordings.
I wouldn´t say it "looks" wrong - if it sounds right (to you).
It´s generally better to record with a lot of headroom, cause it´s easier to increase volume afterwards than the opposite.
If you have distortions or other unwanted artefacts from overloads/peaks, it´s almost impossible to remove it.
Try to find the right recording level - if you e.g. play guitar and you have set your levels, hit the strings really hard - if the volume then goes slightly above 0 db, it´s usually fine.

Best,
Christian

i was thinking that something could be implemented like the slider on the right top corner in SAMPLER in the sample section. just to be able to see a more detailed version of the waveform WITHOUT an effect on volume... that would fit here very well i think.
