How to import stems without worrying about warping?

I have audio files I've bounced from Logic from bar 1111. I want to just dump these into Live's arrange window with the global tempo set to what the song was recorded in. I DON'T want confusing warp things happening to my files. Everything is already perfect with the audio files. How can I simply dump a bunch of files into Live and have them all play back in time and in their original state? No warping.

I have had to do this alot with the songs I had originally composed in Cubase.

The only way I have found to do it is to -

- Select and highlight all the clips.
- Unclick the "Warp" button (this will apply the changes to all clips and turn off Warping)
- Check the "Start point" of all your stems.

Epic pain in the ass to check the start point if you have alot of stems. But it is tried and true mehtod for me.

Simply turn OFF "Auto-warp long samples" in Preferences > Record/Warp/Launch before you drag the stems into Live.

To fix the issues with the stems you currently have, delete them from Live's Arrange, go to the stems in Finder/Explorer and trash the .asd files, switch off auto-warp in prefs, and drag them in again.

Cool. "Long Samples" refers to anything that's not just a "one-hit" sample correct? In other words, with this deactivated NOTHING will be warped upon import? I can always chose to warp any of the files later on via the clip viewer I'm assuming...

It really helps if you set Live's global tempo to the inherent tempo of the stems BEFORE you drag them in, as Cofane mentioned in his first post.

This is also true in other DAWS. Set the correct tempo BEFORE importing is a good habit to get into. It can mess up Cubase too, and require you go into the pool and manually edit the tempo, and even then you often get one or tracks which don't seem to comply and require manual nudging/alignment - in fact, it's almost quicker to just start a new project set to the correct tempo, even if you are almost done. (if you're unsure of what the pool is I enclose a pic)
