how to play impulse slots 2-8 in a drum rack??

Post by aVus » Fri Aug 13, 2010 10:10 am

i couldn't find this in the manual, so if it is in there, you can point me in the direction by replying RTFM...

i can't figure this out. i have an old project i would like to work on again. i have several MIDI tracks that contain impulse instruments. in each instance, MIDI triggers sounds in some slot within impulse.

to be able to rework on this project, i would like to combine all current MIDI impulse tracks within just one drum rack. problem is, when i move impulse to the drum rack on C1, then when hitting C1 i can only play slot 1 of the impulse, not slots 2-8. how can i make the drum rack understand that on hitting C1, it should play, say, slot 5 in the contained impulse?

how this was clear ;-)

thanks

If you unfold the group button for your Drum Rack channel, or if you look at the racks and turn on the buttons that reveal extra info, it gives you the option to select what note is played by triggering that pad.

Also, it might be easier to make a standard rack full of impulses rather than a drum rack? Then you can just place the 'Pitch' effect before each Impulse and repitch them so they stay out of each others' way (only problem is the top and bottom notes are an octave apart :/). Then you'd have to repitch the original midi clips too..
