Problems using whole numbers (i.e. -22 dB and not -21.7 dB)

Hello!

I have so much love for my livesets / racks that it's important I keep them as nice and clean as possible. Like, if I notice my Compressor threshold is set to -21.7 dB I'll immediately correct it to -22 dB.

But there is one case here where I have three Compressor thresholds mapped to a single knob. If I adjust the knob to say -22 dB on the first compressor, it will say -18.8 dB on the second one, and -15.2 dB on the third one. Attempting to set the second one to -19 dB will change the first one to -22.2 dB and the third one to -15.4 dB, and so forth. This despite also having set the Min and Max values in the Macro Mappings of the three Compressors to whole numbers.

Is there a way to fix this? (i.e. setting the first Compressor threshold to -22 dB, second to -19 dB and third to -15 dB)

(meanwhile I've requested a Snap to nearest whole number feature in the wishlist)

Huh? That's crazy talk - seriously, why would you want to go and round up/down all your thresholds etc?

If you dragged the sliders, pots and such blindly til they sounded good chances are they wouldn't end up integers. If anything there should be a feature to HIDE the values so you listen rather than use your eyes, it is sound after all

Do whatever works for you but a long time ago a really smart guy told me not to pay attention to numbers. I said, "it sounds really good set at 64.3 or whatever" and he about had a conniption. Use your ears not your eyes I guess, the numbers are just there for reference. You can hold down the command key for finer adjustment, with some plugins it might be shift instead. If I'm having trouble I'll just do this without looking for a slower throw and call it good.
