Lining up wav files from protools in arrangement view
Lining up wav files from protools in arrangement view
Greetings all...
In a bit of a bind here...
I'm created a song in ableton live....went to a studio and had live drums recorded over it..
The engineer simply took the wav files I exported from my ableton arrangement into protools...
The drummer came in recorded the drums...and each sound was placed on a separate channel...(kick, snare, hat, toms etc)...
At the end of the session..he rendered the protools session to wav files...
I'm here trying to import those wav drum files into my ableton live arrangement view...
but they don't seem to be synching up with my tracks....
it sounded perfect at the studio in protools yesterday...
what am i dong wrong?
I use live 7 on a blackmacbook...
thanx in advance

Make sure none of them are getting warped, you might even want to turn off warping long samples in the Preferences, hope that helps.

^^Wot he said. Turn off "Auto-warp long samples" in Preferences > Record/Warp/Launch before you drag the stems into Live.
To fix the issues with the stems you currently have, delete them from Live's Arrange, go to the stems in Finder/Explorer and trash the .asd files, switch off auto-warp in prefs, and drag them in again.

Also make sure that the start marker in each clip is at the very beginning of the file. Sometimes Live dorks it and places it a few seconds late, so it might look like it's at the beginning but it's not really.
