this modular controller is missing a jogwheel module, something the size of a CDJ100 or something

I notice their site is working and they are posting some interesting info in their forum

the spooky thing is that all the images are 3d renders ... weird.

http://www.mawzer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3

additionally , check out the depth of the box compared to the depth of the modules to the side in this image

http://www.mawzer.com/Image/mawzer1.jpg

there is a slot where there are holes where a module is meant to go (nearest the 'camera') there doesnt appear to be enough remaining room for the plug length.

what this tells us is that the 3d renders aren't from production diagrams - ie not to scale of any real thing.
Does this unit actually exist?

looking forward to seeing a module in a hairy dirty hand!

Are those 'touch sensitive' fadders?
Doesn't look like it... being pastic. (?)

Also, I wish for little LCD 'modules' so ya can have a clue what all the assignments are.. (even if it's manually set.)

sorry to add to their marketing, but perhaps they'll knock some money off for me?

The mixer preconfigured setup cost conversion
970.00 EUR = 1,256.48 USD
970.00 EUR = 661.039 GBP

I dont care how cool that thing looks, that price tag is ridiculous

you could build one of those for yourself for far less

Think of this as something for people with cash who can't be arsed making thier own. Touring laptop DJs with a dcent schedule for example!!! :)

I think this is a great idea and not an unreasonable price providing the quality is solid. I do feel however that the base unit is damn expensive.

This idea would be cool if it were implemented as a software application housed in a touchscreen MIDI controller. Of course, it would be a bad idea if you really really like the touchy feely of knobs/faders etc.
I have been using my touchscreen monitor and find it loads of fun (although there is room for imrovements) so I could tolerate a touchscreen keyboard, drum pads, knobs, faders etc. etc.

I am picturing a Nintendo DS styled laptop where there are 2 screens, the top would be the DAW GUI and the bottom is the touchscreen controller as opposed to a standard QWERTY keyboard. So you use the bottom touchscreen to connect modules together any way you like (like MAWZER) and have at it. Faders, knobs, switches, buttons, drum pads, crossfaders, synth keyboard etc. etc.
Talk about portable and versatile!
A touchpad, I think you mean? Rather than integrated into the laptop, how about an array of touchpads, say 8 x 16 that you can assign however, plug in via USB. Intercessory software to interpret the x-y values and to allow turning off some of the pads when not needed, also masking of x or y to register one or the other, also recognize "taps" or not, and assignment to MIDI.

For faders, fingers move up and down, for knobs, side to side, Live i-face is where your settings are reflected. Could also be a drum pad at the same time, depending on the assignments.

If the pads could be backlit, that would be way cool, need some way to label them.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.
