are you saving the mapped ableton project as a template when you make them?

no cause i have my production bits saved as the template which i dont wanna overwrite.

but if ive saved a set as dj set001, when i open it, it should have all my midi mappings shouldnt it? it has them all saved but some arent working till i re-input them in.

Let me get this straight: you setup a lot of mappings, then saved them in your default template. Now you're opening another liveset and the mappings are gone?

This is indeed by design. Mappings are saved with the liveset itself. So if you setup new mappings and then load an old liveset your mappings won't be there anymore.

Edit: Re-read the thread. To answer the original question.. Live doesn't 'remember' these things; they are saved in the liveset (as said above).

So to keep your mappings around you'd start Live, then setup the mappings. Then go to the preference screen; the "File Folder" tab and use the option 'save current set as default'.

After doing that Live will have your mappings every time it starts up.
no i didnt save them to a template, theyre saved in the project. i think i know what the prob was, my ableton was corrupt. i reinstalled & it seems to be working cause on every other machine (diff laptops), it awlays remembers. so it was that specific install on my imac.
