launch currently selected clip with a midi controller?
launch currently selected clip with a midi controller?
I realize that what I may be asking something very basic and at the heart of using Live as an instrument, but I was looking for a way to trigger clips without having to assign a button or key on my midi controller to each clip or scene I had interest in triggering. I'm familiar with the scene select option as well as the scene up/down ones that are only available when mapping midi settings, but find that I may need a way to navigate from channel/track to channel/track as well as record clips on the fly at the push of a button. If I could also get help in locating a similarly universal solution to the arm button (that is, a way to arm tracks without having to assign a button /key per track I'd like to arm), that would be much appreciated.

Get LAUNCHPad or even better for studio APC 40 or 20. Don't really know other way.

if the features I'm asking about are available on a launchpad or the apcs, I figure it would then be a matter of finding out how it works on either of these controllers to apply that principle onto other midi controllers such as my novation x-station.

No, these controllers are specially made for Ableton Live, they're not really MIDI-Controllers, although they can be set up as one.Sonarcade wrote:if the features I'm asking about are available on a launchpad or the apcs, I figure it would then be a matter of finding out how it works on either of these controllers to apply that principle onto other midi controllers such as my novation x-station.
