Hi,
Just wanted to say hello. Having been waiting 3-4 days for my account, I've been reading lots of post and feel like this is the place to get answers!
So for my first question...
I notice that people go on about using Ableton to perform (a la Deadmau5). I've been playing around with creating drum beats, synths, simplers and then arranging them. The bit I don't get is how you would then perform with these? Is this where the controllers come in (monome, lemure etc). Sorry is these are basic questions, am happy to be forwarded on to some decent sites to read up for myself, but it's kind of hard to google at the moment as I don't know what to google for!

Re: Hello
Hello and welcome...
Actually there isn't any specific way to "perform" with Live. U can use the session view, the arrangement or both. U can use an integrated controller (such LAUNCHPad), a 3rd party or both.
Would ulike to be more specific in your question?

Re: Hello
Hi, thanks for the response.
I guess what I mean is that you see people with these n x n set of buttons on a device tapping away at buttons and knobs etc. If I have my session view with my kicks, claps, synths etc. Do these external devices just allow you to play these clips, create them as you go along, or both? Sorry it's not a very structured question, but then I get the impression that live is so flexible you can pretty much do what you like.

Re: Hello
Have a look into the artists section of the Ableton site. Have a read and download a couple of the lessons or packages to play around with.
