Super transparent filter vst?

I'm trying to make a rack for DJing and want to incorporate a bunch of frequency based effects - namely an auto-eq (multi-band sidechain comp - like Belvario's Smart Mixer)

In order to do this, of course, I need some filters to split the frequency bands. I tried doing this with Ableton's built-in filters, and it works, but no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the frequency dip/drop at the crossover points, and there is some obvious smearing of the transients around those frequencies. I have the Waves Lin EQ, but that would consume WAY too much CPU power, and the delay doesn't make it suitable for live performance.

Any suggestions on what VST has steep, super-transparent, non-resonant filters?

I'm assuming you've tried using EQ8 in high quality mode rather than just the autofilter. I use that for my smartmixer setup.

I find Fabfilter Pro-Q is quite nice as a transparent EQ, but you would need to try it to see it works.

I normally use it because it's sleeker than EQ8, has a built-in frequency display, can do linear phase, and is pretty light on CPU.

edit: it can do up to 48 db/octave and has low/mid/and hi latency linear phase modes (as well as zero latency non-lp)

you want a different 'linear phase' eq than waves ?
don't think there are free ones though...
and I believe they all have high processing loads..
what exactly are you trying to achieve?

It doesn't have to be linear phase - just something that won't cause frequency humps near the crossover points. When using Ableton's filters/eqs, as you change the crossover point, it's really easy to hear the little hump move - sounds just like sweeping a narrow Q ~3db boost on an EQ. I've tried toying with the Q but at no avail.

I'm not saying I want something like the Waves Lin EQ - of course anything that high quality will cause lag. Besides, I don't need a full-blown EQ - I just need steep, clean, non-resonant HPF/LPF filters. The LinEQ has these, along with about 150ms of latency - making it not feasible for DJing. The LinEQ is the only plugin I know of off the top of my head that has this, hence my mentioning it.

I really don't get it.... isn't this achieved by lowering the q ...?
I don't understand 'the hump' part.. the eq8 isn't amplifying anything in low q settings...
what hump ?!
