Re: 8.1.5 available for download
whoa, so many crash reported this thread. I might wait a bit, it's all good with 8.1.4 so far.
Re: 8.1.5 available for download
Hah... I installed 8.1.4 shortly after its release, and it crashed so instantly that I haven't opened Live at all since. I was planning to give 8.1.5 a go, but maybe I won't bother now... I guess I've just completely lost my motivation. The Carpet Cleaner wrote:whoa, so many crash reported this thread. I might wait a bit, it's all good with 8.1.4 so far.

8.1.4 crashed for me as well (runing XP) and i felt the same as you. It just ruins your motivation doing music at all!
Live 8.1.5 is running supersmooth, no crashing at all so give it a try!

Ok, I hold you responsible if there is a problem !mr.adl wrote:sporkles wrote:Hah... I installed 8.1.4 shortly after its release, and it crashed so instantly that I haven't opened Live at all since. Alchemy problem solved by deleting live prefs.

Re: 8.1.5 available for download
Where are live preferences on the mac? They're shared in a library somewhere aren't they? Think I might delete them.
My 8.1.5 crashed from the first time I started it and it tried to access my keychain then failed, and hasn't worked since. I deleted the Ableton things from the keychain to see if that helped but neither 8.1.4 or 8.1.5 are currently working (both crash on start), but 8.1.3 still seems to be working fine!
If I delete them what do I lose? Just the template set? Does it just rebuild its own file? I can always just rename/move it somewhere else.
This is one of the reasons I'm getting a real mac, I can't tell if this is caused by it being something funny with the hackintosh, or if it's bonefide "could happen to any real mac for the same reason" kinda problem.

Re: 8.1.5 available for download
Turns out the problem was in the galbanum waveforms 2010.PHY6 wrote:Crashed trying to open GUI of Alchemy....bugger...(report send)
The current version of Alchemy can only handle 63 folders in it's waveosc/wavelfo folder structure.
This will be fixed in update 1.2.

Working great here, opening a project that previously popped and clicked and dropped out, now work fine, loads quicker, 'feels' more stable.
Uninstalled 8.11 and 8.13. Kept 8.14 just in case but v positive so far.
cheers Abes. !

Re: 8.1.5 available for download
Finally gave it a test run, and it's looking fine so far. However (I'll have to check with previous versions) Effectrix seems
to be lagging one sixteenth note. I'm pretty sure it's been spot on earlier. Let's say I put a "loop" effect exactly on what
should be the downbeat, the effect kicks in too late. Does anyone else have this problem?
The loop point CPU spikes are still there, though...

Re: 8.1.5 available for download
8.1.5 is better than 8.1.4 here, but still sends some crazy cpu spikes for no reason. Tracks that were playing fine minutes ago with the cpu at around 40%, suddenly crackle and stop with the cpu meter showing 116% !!!
Also it seems that if I open a project file and never play it, something is building up in the background and eating up cpu, this also using only live's built-in fxs and synths...
Anyone else encountering this problem?
