Serious huge pop when I hit play button

Using 8.1.5 for Mac, and I never had this problem before. Whenever I hit a play or stop button in the transport, I get this huge pop that just about blows my eardrums out, and it gets stuck in the effect send and is ridiculously loud. I don't seem to have changed anything in the setup, so this is really confusing.

Do u use any 3rd party plug-ins, or any Live devices with feedback or permanent distortion ablilities?

Thanks - I tracked it down to the nxtasy plugin from Crysonic.
