Transpose Multiple Clips via 1 MIDI Controller?

Post by morbank » Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:51 am

Hello All,
I am trying to create a streamlined set up for live performance without having to use several midi keyboards. I was wondering if anyone here knows if it is possible to transpose notes in independent midi clips using one midi controller?

Say I have 3 midi tracks (named T1, T2, T3), and each of these tracks contains 1 monophonic midi clip (named C1, C2, C3). I would like to be able to play a 3 finger A Major chord (C-E-A) on my midi keyboard and transpose the notes inside clips C1, C2 and C3 to the corresponding notes from the chord (in real-time). So clip C1 is transposed to C, clip C2 is transposed to E and clip C3 is transposed to A. Maybe the lowest note in the chord dictates the transpose data sent to clip C1, the middle note in the chord transposes C2 and the highest note transposes C3?

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them!
Thanks, Clay
