is their anyone making this sound with software? im using paul stretch and field recordings which is pretty intense but is their anyone using vsts or effects that they find particulary useful?

Anything with a granular sampling engine should help: Alchemy, Kontakt, Reaktor stuff. I use Metasynth, but its not a VST.

But Live has its own granular sampling engine - try extreme timestretches in Live!
