Hi,
Couple of questions in one really. Firstly I've created a simpler track and made a nice little sample with a few effects applied. Is it possible to somehow save this so that I can use it again at another time? I can export the midi track but this just saves the "notes".
Also if I worked our a good set of effects that worked well together flanger, ping pong delay etc, is it possible to save this so this combined effect can be reused?
Sorry if my terminology is wrong bit I'm very new to ableton!

Re: Save track + instruments + settings
Group the simpler or effects into a rack (command + G) and drag the rack into the browser
Re: Save track + instruments + settings
Thanks White Rabbit,
That enables me to save my effects and simpler, what about saving the actual notes that I've created to go with it? Is it possible to save this as one thing? Or do I need to save the midi notes and then the rack as you suggest?

DRAG THE TRACK HEADER INTO THE BROWSER
..it'll save the track along with clips/devices into an .als file
you can drag more than 1 track btw ...
read up chapter 5 in the manual 'managing files and sets'

Re: Save track + instruments + settings
yeah drag the whole track(s) into the browser and it will save the track with midi/audio clips & racks, instruments and effects as a live set which u can drag into other sets.
I suggest coming up with a system that works well for u for storing presets. I have a White Rabbit folder and subfolders under it for instruments, effects, etc and then under them I have filters, reverbs... and makes it easy to get to want I want quickly. I started out with everything I made in one folder and it ended up to messy for me very quickly. do what works for you though
