I've had no problems when I simply had my Nordlead keyboard set up through my Presonus Firebox into Live via the External Instrument effect. I was able to record MIDI and control the sound with the fader and place effects such as EQ after the External Instrument effect to manipulate the sound of the Nord.
Now I added my Waldorf Pulse into the chain via MIDI and plugged that (instead of the Nord) into the audio inputs of the Firebox. I noticed the problem when I placed an EQ after the external instrument for the Pulse and it didn't seem to effect the sound. Then I pulled down the fader for that channel and I could still hear the Pulse. There was no signal registering on the master channel, so I don't understand where the sound of the Pulse is coming from. There is no indication of any levels on any of the other channels either. Basically when the fader for the Pulse channel is up and recording is armed (or Monitor In is on ) I get both the sound from that channel and the mysterious other sound source mixed together ( I can hear some slight latency on one of the sounds resulting in a doubled effect). Any idea's where this is coming from? If I mute every single channel and even pull down their faders I can still hear the Pulse if the Pulse's clip channel is set to Monitor On. Should it not be silent? Thanks.

Hello fellow Pulse user.
Sounds like you've got some monitoring on in your soundcard settings. I've had this happen to me in the past and it was always due to my soundcard mixer's settings - nothing to do with Live. Check all your firebox mixer settings - I guess you also have a software mixer program from Presonus to control it?
