Im looking to get a new keyboard midi controller for live8.
I have owned the akai mpk49 in the past... ended up selling it to pay bills.
now i'm looking at the axiom/axiom pro 25 or the mpk25. (i hate novations automap)
i liked the akai mpk49, but i didn't love it.
any thoughts? pros/cons?
i have no experience with maudio products.

AKAI MPK 25, very good built and the inventor of MPC Pad, good keyboard and heavy duty construction. At least a little piece of music history is on this brand ; )
M-Audio I'n my personal opinion isn't one totally reliable company.

I'd go for the MPK. The Axioms just feel like toys. Their keys have softer action and are slightly less springy, which may or a may not be a good thing for you.
Had an Axiom49 for about a year, and it worked well enough for my needs, but after upgrading to an MPK49 about a month ago, I'd never go back.
It just feels so much sturdier, and doesn't make me afraid I'm going to snap off a knob any time I touch one.
