3 features i really miss

Post by G. » Fri Aug 27, 2010 10:35 am

hello,

in my workflow i often miss 3 features i had in Acid (they are also present in Reaper)

- changing start point of the clip (when non warped) / loop points (when warped) by Alt + Click + Drag.Right/Left

- keyboard shortcuts for pitch+ and pitch- (and more generally, customizable keyboard shortcuts for all actions)

- zooming with mousewheel

would be great to see them in a near future...

to the first:
-you have marker like ">" or "<" for the beginning by using control+click or control+shift+click
-you have one row up marker like "[" or "]" by using control+click or control+shift+click

to the second:
-transpose in a clip is only a rough feature. load the sample in a simpler oder sampler and then use the transpose parameter with your keayboard/ controller
I know that the clip transpose is allways active on the clip you focus. so it´s not possible to controll this parameter to only one clip.
use more the midi/ audio effects and automate them.

to the third:
- here we can discuss if the zoom function in the way it works is a straight live feature or not :-)
I think it´s ok how to use the zoom now. I can work fast with live.
btw: "+" and "-" are the shortcuts and work very fine.

a pro works with shortcuts

I´m learning every day new features in live! :D

The cool thing about techno still, comparing it to most jazz is the improvisation coupled with raw energy.

hi NF,

for the first : i was talking about doing this without having to go in the clip editor (directly by dragging on the clip in the arrangement view)

the second : my workflow is made of slicing / changing loop points / pitching small pieces of sounds, using a simpler can't allow me to do this : i'll always have the same piece of sound. and i'm not playing with keyboards or controllers in this part of my work, just you know, playing lego with bricks of sound... :)
to be fast, i need to be able to do this whitout moving my cursor outside of the clip.

the third : you're right + and - are working but i don't like it... that's why i'm talking about customizable shortcuts.

thanks anyway, i've learned something here :
to the first:
-you have marker like ">" or "<" for the beginning by using control+click or control+shift+click
-you have one row up marker like "[" or "]" by using control+click or control+shift+click
cheers !
