Toggle Looping with APC40

Post by David Ve » Sat Sep 04, 2010 5:14 pm

Using LIVE 8 with an APC40.
I have
5 tracks for loops and mp3's etc.
2 for external MIC's
Using the APC pretty much as is. No Bomes or anything. I have an effect rack on each of the channels.
My Question...
How can I toggle the loop function on and off????
The PLAY, STOP and other buttons do their duty on the track that is selected. I would like to be able to toggle the LOOP function of the selected/highlighted sample via a button...
Any ideas???

hi, i have the Record Quantization button on my APC assigned to toggle loop, i didnt use this button very much not sure if you do, anyway use midi assign and assign any clips 'Loop' tab to the Record Quantization button or any other you like on your APC, and thats it. what ever clip you have selected it works with that clip :) hope this helps. i put a Loop sticker / label over the record quantization on my APC it looks a bit crappy but i soon got over it lol!!!

I hate that it only works for the Clip you have selected.

You can't really turn the Loop on/off for a clip that isn't highlighted. That sucks but so it goes.

I'm involved in a project for APC40 modification. "Intelligent Clip/Track selection" could be helpful for this issue.

More info on this particular function will be online soon.

Thanx guys!!
I am so dumb.. It works fine .. I somehow did something and the button was locked to a specific sample..
THX MikeRez....
Somehow it works fine now.
and YES Alextronica, on/off for a looped clip that isn't selected would be great :D

It does the job for me though.. just have to make it a habit to always highlight the track I wanna mess with..

Don't really see the need for other software just yet. I'm quite busy with 8 tracks and what my stock APC has to offer.

I have it so that you can observe the looping of the clip and turn it off or set a new two bar loop using the solo cue button in one of the eight scenes i have programmed using maxforlive....

This works on any playing clip within the redbox.....
