internal slice tool and player

I use only Live. And its really only live. I don't use other program in rewire or vsti (except some free little synth). I do much sampling. When I used Reason in rewire my favorite way to sample was to load a pre-chopped rex in load in into a dr. rex. It was an easy way to trigger all those little samples. Now that I'm only using live, I miss this ability. Shure, I can chop all my sound in live (and its what I do) but it takes more time. I tried Phatmatik pro demo and it is unstable (make my computer crash on live quit which make me nervous) and intakt demo (which is more firepower than I need).

These "solutions" make me think that a basic Phatmatik like native plug (like impulse or simpler) would be awsome.

That would be exactly what I need considering what I like the most about live:
- live is a one program setup
- fast workflow
- the ability to save as Self-contained (I know this seems like a small thing but easily using like 40 samples in one song make you want this feature)

Hey Dnt. This isn't an answer to your question, but you may want to look at Dicer and/or MicroDicer from http://www.concretefx.com/

They are vst's designed to slice and dice. Maybe that can help you until Ableton includes this feature for us.

Yep that woulb be cool. Integrated, low CPU usage slicer, and as easy to use as Live.

What i don´t like about using slicers is that you can´t drag n drop the midi file directly to the MIDI track from the GUI of the Vsti. This works in cubase and other hosts, but not in Live

Ableton, please implement rex/rx2 import. It would also be nice to have rex files appear in the browser as folders where you can access, preview and load the single slices.
