Impulse midi mapping?

Post by jez3122 » Tue Feb 06, 2007 8:52 pm

When i'm using Impulse the samples automaticly map to my keyboard, does anyone know if its possible to map them to my the pads on my Akai MPD16 instead? i know its not a major problem but i find it more inspiring to use the pads
Cheers Jez

I'm sure it must be.

Forgive my ignorance but do the pads output MIDI notes? If so, you could change them to meet the Impulse range (C3-C4) or if they output notes but you can't change them you could use the Scale MIDI plugin included in Live to adjust it so that it 'aligns' with the notes Impulse expects.

hey .. even though you found your solution, am just sharing what i just learnt.

i wanted to customize the mapping on my launchpad and found out that i could do that by using the midi plug ins: pitch and scale.. i can also use multiple instances of impulse on the same channel by grouping them and adding chains. i can map each impulse on a different octave with exactly the mapping i want on my launchpad!

was great .. maybe you find use for it sometime
