My current style of writing drum parts for my songs is to open a drum rack (usually a kit) and punch out a beat using my drum pad... from here I'll add more drum racks into Live so I can play beats on top of previous beats until I get what I want. This is alongside several audio tracks that are all being run live (record button is lit up) that I sing through and play guitar through...
Live runs flawless for me otherwise, but when I get this many drum rack open, Live begins to slow to a crawl... The drum racks must be using my laptops RAM to hold all these samples and thus it slows down considerably.
I saw this thread on the forums: http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=99502 , but I was unable to locate the folder "on drum tracks" to try what the poster suggests...
Any advice on how I can overcome this? Thank you
-Paul
p.s. I have 4GB ram, decent amount for ableton
Live slows to a crawl with too many drum racks open...

im on a mac.. does that make a difference? I still can't find the folder anywhere. I even searched in the live app ("show contents")
