How to use Yamaha P85 as MIDI controller

I have a Yamaha P85 and use a Fast Track Pro Interface. I have the P85 connected to the interface by midi cable and the interface to the computer by USB. The interface is receiving input from the piano but i can't figure out how to get Live 8 to pick this up. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Check the preferences, under the MIDI tab. Make sure the "Track" switch is turned to "On" for the fast track MIDI In port.

Edit: If you want to use it to do automation, also enable the "Remote" column for the same port.
