ESI u46 XL and Ableton

Post by Popsicle Theory » Sun Sep 12, 2010 2:17 pm

Hey guys,

Been fiddling with my ESI + ableton for about 3 weeks now and still can't get it to work properly.
I have all the cables as they should and also the preferences in Ableton but still it won't let me record.
If I click record the button doesn't even turn red (yes I have my track armed)

I use windows 7 64 bit, have the newest ASIO + ESI drivers/updates and use Ableton 8.0.4

This is how I have my set up:

kp3 in - ESI out 3/4
kp3 out - esi in 1/2
ESI out 1/2 - stereo

I also have an onboard soundcard and tried turning it off but then I have no sound at all.

whats wrong!? I'm sure all my settings/cables are right..

Thanks in advance :)

I've got an ESI U46XL which worked fine on my old XP laptop with the latest Live 7 versions. Had nothing but trouble with my new Win7 64bit machine to the point I ended up buying a new soundcard. Shame because I really liked that little box. Have you tried ASIO4All drivers instead? Might help?
