Hi,
If you switch off the dock's automatic hide/show and work with Live in full-screen mode, then you should be fine... dock will only appear when you switch application away from Live...
Alternatively, you can put the dock up the left or right side instead of the bottom of the screen...

Re: Permanently hide the Dock on Macbook pro
Found some possible solutions for you.
http://forums.theappleblog.com/applicat ... hide-dock/
"So there is a hidden feature to orient the dock to the top of the screen which can be set in Onyx (and its like) or in Terminal via:
defaults write com.apple.dock orientation -string top;killall Dock
which I had never paid attention to before. But it does what I have been looking for for some time, it gets rid of that damn dock! This feature tucks the dock under the menubar, so when it is hidden, it cannot be triggered. The Autohide trigger (cmd-opt-D) becomes a hide trigger, dropping the auto part. It is a wonderful feature that I have been searching for in vein for some time, and there it was right under my nose the whole time. I ran into a problem trying to set a mouse trigger to the top edge in QS a few days ago which is what caused this feature to dawn on me today. I am very happy and thought I would share it with you guys in case there are others out there that would like to rid themselves of their dock, without actually getting rid of the dock."
If you try this you may want to be able to re-orient the Dock back to it's more usual locations at some point in the future, in which case you will have to track down the Terminal command or use CLIX.
You can also try this:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/messa ... ID=9375882
"Try this to permanently hide the Dock. CMD+OPT+D and then lock the com.apple.dock.plist file in /Users/username/Library/Preferences/ using the CMD+I command (Get Info) on it."
You might see if CLIX can kill the Dock via Terminal commands, it probably has one or two tricks up its sleeve:

And remember: when dealing with Terminal commands be very aware of what you're doing! CLIX is usually a safe way to do because they usually have some form of undo commands close by the do command (as in: turn something off/turn something on for example).
Good luck!
