Oh, OK. You're not talking about what new users get, but rather what old users didn't get that new users do.

In this case the OP isn't moaning about that though, more griping about offers and bonuses for new users.

First of all, you are not “supporting” Ableton like it’s some sort of charity project. You are a customer and you bought a product and you are supposed to like it enough to accept its cost which you obviously do since you are an old customer.

You aren’t doing Ableton a favor by buying it (technically) it’s fair business nothing more, you WANT the product and they get the money.

Secondly Ableton doesn’t forget old users. They released plenty of free Live packs for existing customers to enjoy over the years, all of which can be found here:

http://www.ableton.com/livepacks

Those are the “gifts” you’re begging for and it’s more than most companies offer already.

@ xzusa8ky - try using that logic on Apple. The new iPods have more features and hard drive space... GO!

^ give back???

If Live 8 worked fine and you bought it, then 6 months later they offered a discount should they contact all the those who registered prior to the discounts/incentives and refund a portion of their loot?

I bought Live 6 right after Live 7 came out and managed to save about 100 bucks by upgrading that way. So do all those who purchased Live 6 get a 100 dollar refund... since I did?**

** if you fuckers do, then I get a 1% finders fee off the top.

vienna, a city which regularly reaches the top of international quality-of-life tables, is in austria - a country which is one of the richest in the world.

and all xzusa8ky is asking for is that the same freebies being extended to new licensees be offered to the older licensees who endured a clusterfuck of bugs & stability issues. the guy is hardly begging for free shit. some of the responses his post has garnered seem to (unsurprisingly) miss that aspect of his grievance.
